ATTENTION ⚠️

Some institutions may not have received their most recent billing files from the iLab Software. A fix has been found and billing files are expected to be sent and post in your institution's financial system this weekend. We apologize for the delay that this may have caused in your workflow. If there are any questions, you can work directly with your Agilent Customer Success Manager or open a support ticket, by clicking on 'Help', at the top right of the page.

Australian Drosophila Transgenic Facility (ADTF)

The Australian Drosophila Transgenic Facility (ADTF), supported by Phenomics Australia and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, offers specialised microinjection services for generating transgenic strains of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster.

Service Overview

This facility currently offers the following approaches for transgenesis in D. melanogaster:

  • PhiC31 integrase-mediated transgenesis ($500): A highly efficient approach enabling site-specific integration of transgenes into a desired location (attP40 & attP2 landing sites) within the D. melanogaster genome.
  • P-element-mediated transgenesis ($600): A classical method involving the introduction of transgenes via the P-element transposon system. It is important to note that this method leads to random integration, potentially resulting in positional effects that can influence the activity of transgenes.

Getting Your Project Underway
